Il Post's Terms and Conditions Simplified

- The terms are lengthy and divided into multiple separate documents (registrazione, servizi online, vendita prodotti) with overlapping and sometimes conflicting conditions, making it hard for users to get a clear picture of their rights and obligations.

- Extremely broad and one-sided modification rights: Il Post can unilaterally modify both the general conditions and the price of subscriptions for a "justified reason," with only 30 days' notice and no meaningful option for users to object beyond canceling (which may involve losing already-paid periods).

- Automatic renewal of subscriptions is the default, with the burden on the user to manually cancel before expiry; no proactive reminder or opt-in confirmation is required.

- Users are granted a very broad, worldwide, free, and perpetual license over any content they contribute (including the right to sublicense and transfer to third parties), far beyond what is necessary for providing the service.

- Users waive any right to collect royalties for public communication or performance of their contributed content, even through collective management organizations.

- The service provider disclaims all liability for the accuracy or timeliness of content, and for any damages arising from its use, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence.

- The provider can suspend or interrupt services for any force majeure or supervening impossibility, with no liability for resulting damages, including server outages or failures of third-party providers.

- In case of user violation, the provider can terminate the contract by law (articolo 1456 c.c.) for a very broad list of reasons, including providing outdated or incorrect personal data, with immediate loss of access and no refund for already-paid periods.

- Users must indemnify and hold the provider harmless from any claims arising from their use or abuse of services, including unauthorized use by third parties if the user's password is compromised.

- The provider explicitly states it does not pre-screen user contributions and is not liable for their legality, truthfulness, or offensiveness, yet reserves the right to remove them at its sole discretion.

- For the purchase of services and products, the right of withdrawal is lost as soon as the service begins (even within the 14-day period), which may catch consumers off guard.

- For online course services, the provider can change dates, postpone, or cancel events at any time, with no liability and only a possible refund for services not delivered.

- For product sales, if a user fails to pick up a package after three delivery attempts and a 5-day storage period, the contract can be terminated by law, and the user is charged for delivery, storage, and return shipping.

- The return shipping costs for exercising the right of withdrawal from product purchases are entirely borne by the consumer, which may discourage exercise of that right.

- The provider can request copies of ID documents for security reasons, and failure to provide them within 5 working days leads to automatic contract termination.

- The language of the contract is Italian only, and all communications and dispute resolution are presumed to take place in Italy, which may be inconvenient for non-Italian speakers or residents.

- The dispute resolution clause for non-consumer users mandates exclusive jurisdiction of the court of Milan, regardless of the user's location.

- For the "Abbonamento Collettivo" (collective subscription), invited users have no right of withdrawal and can be removed at the sole discretion of the main subscriber, with no recourse.
